Scope of ServicesThe Mothership NYC provides non-medical support including:
- Birth doula services
- Postpartum doula care
- Lactation support
- Newborn sleep education
- Placenta encapsulation and related services
- Childbirth education
- Bellibind® postpartum bodywork
- Workshops and community events
We do not provide medical, clinical, or diagnostic services.
Clients must seek medical care from licensed healthcare providers.

Client ResponsibilitiesBy working with us, you agree to:
- Communicate openly and honestly about your needs and concerns
- Notify us of changes in your birth plan, due date, or health status
- Contact us promptly when labor begins (for birth services)
- Provide a safe and respectful working environment during in-home visits
4.
Payment, Refunds & Cancellations - All payments are due as outlined in your service agreement.
- Deposits and retainers are non-refundable unless otherwise specified.
- Cancellations made after services have begun may not be eligible for refunds.
- Placenta services are non-refundable once your placenta has been picked up or dropped off.
- Missed appointments without notice may incur a fee.
For individualized situations, refer to your signed agreement.

Placenta Encapsulation DisclaimerPlacenta encapsulation is
not regulated by the FDA.
The Mothership NYC:
- Follows strict sanitation guidelines
- Provides properly labeled products
- Does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition
Clients agree to store, transport, and consume placenta products responsibly.
We are not liable for outcomes outside our control, including delays caused by hospitals, labs, or couriers.

Doula Scope & LiabilityDoulas do not:
- Perform clinical tasks
- Make medical decisions
- Speak to staff instead of the client
- Guarantee any specific birth outcome
You (the client) remain the primary decision-maker throughout your care.
The Mothership NYC is not liable for medical complications, provider decisions, or unexpected circumstances beyond our scope of support.
